School of Nursing continues to integrate resources, build platforms to improve teaching and scientific research as well as quality of personnel training, and shore up subjects construction bases bearing our faculty motto of “people-oriented, innovative development” in mind. We have 16 full-time teachers including 7 associate professors, 2 of whom have doctor’s degree, one postdoctoral teacher and the rest having master’s degree. We have 121 clinical teachers, including 8 professors, 39 associate professors, 11 of whom postgraduate supervisors. According to teachers’ research direction and professional expertise, School of Nursing constantly creates academic innovation team consistent with the academic direction. We have completed the transition of teachers from the type of “teaching” to “teaching research”. We have six discipline-developing fields including tumor psychological nursing, pain nursing, community elderly care, disaster nursing, mental nursing and neurological diseases nursing. We have 16 provincial teaching reform projects and 33 school teaching reform projects. We were awarded three first prizes in provincial teaching reform and one first prize in school teaching reform. More than 30 teaching papers were published. Our teachers have published 14 textbooks as chief editor, 16 textbooks as deputy editor, 52 textbooks as editor and 12 monographs. We have been approved with 12 provincial scientific research projects and 35 municipal scientific research projects. We published 150 SCI research papers. We won a first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award in Liaoning province and a first prize of Natural Science Academic Achievement in Liaoning province in 2013. We were also awarded one item of National Natural Science Fund as the second applicant in 2014 and an overseas cooperation research project.
Our school has carried out extensive international exchanges and cooperation programs. We have established a long-term teaching and research cooperation with the research institutions in the United States, Japan, Thailand, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong and Macao regions. The teachers and students exchange project with School of Nursing from Chulalongkorn University provided a good platform for exchanges and cooperation between our teachers and students. We are expanding our scope of influence and the academic reputation in international nursing profession through the development of international exchanges. School of Nursing was ranked four-star in China according to the 2014 Greater China University Discipline and Specialty Rankings published by China Alumni Network. We have also been approved to join the China Association of Higher Nursing Education in 2014.
