International cooperation and exchange

Dalian Medical University is committed to establishing close relationships with world renowned universities to develop an international education strategy.

Our university has established professional relationships with over one hundred universities and research institutions in 39 counties and regions, collaborating in education, research and clinical medicine with institutions such as University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Texas, University of Virginia, Ohio State University, Emporia State University, University of Oxford, Monash University,  Curtin University, Deakin University, Tokyo University, and Kyung He University, but to name a few of a growing list of outstanding medical institutions affiliated with our university.

Through visionary leadership, students at our university are benefitting from a number of exemplary programs including the following:

Established articulation programs with universities in USA, Australia, UK, Korea and Taiwan

Ongoing invitations to well-known experts and scholars to our university to engage in teaching and research every year, dramatically influencing internationalization of academic program

In 2011, the university was awarded by the Ministry Of Education as a participant in the "Sino-US Cultural Exchange Special Scholarship", "Sino-Russian Cultural Exchange Special Scholarship” and " Chinese Government Scholarship-EU Program”, which attracted many excellent foreign students.

In 2012, received permission from Ministry of Education and commenced the Joint Venture Program of Master of Public Health (MPH) with Benedictine University.

In 2013, the school qualified to participate in the National Scholarship Program of Undergraduates and Postgraduates and send outstanding medical students abroad for additional international study.

In 2014, International Funds for DMU was established to promote international education and support international cooperation and exchange. Hundreds of teachers and students go abroad to study in well-known universities and institutions, greatly expanding their international vision.

Chinese Government Scholarship—Chinese University Program is a full scholarship established by MOE to support some Chinese universities to enroll outstanding international students for graduate studies in China. At present, a total of 273 Chinese universities are designated to undertake this program

Supporting Categories, Duration and Instruction Language

1.This scholarship only supports graduate students. The scholarship support is for postgraduate students only and is no longer than 3 years; for PhD students the scholarship is no longer than 4 years

2.Duration of the scholarship, which covers academic study and the Chinese language/preparatory study, as specified in the Admission Letter, cannot be extended in principle.

3.Scholarship students can register for either the Chinese-taught or English-taught program, whichever is applicable.

Where to Apply and Deadline
You should apply to the designated Chinese universities undertaking this program between January and early April. Please consult us for its specific deadline.


To be eligible, applicants must be
- Non Chinese citizen with in good health
-hold a bachelor’s degree and under the age of 35
-hold a master’s degree and under the age of 40
This program generally does not support registered students who are studying in China when applying for this scholarship

Application Procedure

1. Complete the online application procedure at CSC Online Application System for International
Students ( print a hard copy. Submit all the required application documents to the university before the deadline.

Application Documents Requirements (Please submit two copies)
1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship;
2. Notarized highest diploma (photocopy);
Candidates who are still in school must submit an official document issued by their current school to prove their student status and a letter identifying the expected graduation date.
3. Academic transcripts
4. A Study Plan or Research Proposal
This should be a minimum of 800 words
5. Two Recommendation Letters ;

Applicant must submit two recommendation letters signed by professor or associate professor.
 Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy);
The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid
Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months
Pleases keep the original copy of the Form for school registration
7. Valid HSK Certificate (if available


1. Documents in non-Chinese or non- English must be attached with a notarized translation in Chinese or English
2. All the documents should be bound together on top left corner in the order of 1 to 8
3. All the application documents are not returnable

Scholarship Confirmation

1. The university nominates the candidates to CSC base on the application documents.
2. CSC makes the final decision and approves the scholarship qualification, the admission documents will be sent to the university before June 30
3. A scholar, even if accepted by multiple universities, will only be granted one scholarship.
The host university will be the CSC final decision for the scholar with multiple offers.
4. The acceptance package (Acceptance Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201)) will be sent to the scholar from the host university.
5. The qualification will be cancelled if there is any change on host universities, field or duration of the study.
6. The qualification will not be reserved if the scholar cannot successfully register before the registration deadline.
